Hello Everyone,

 

It has been an exciting couple of months here at Cathy Van Bruggen Designs!  In February,  Cathy attended The Applique Academy in Williamsburg, VA.  She had a wonderful time and plans to attend again in February next year.  While in Williamsburg, she had the opportunity to visit with some friends and extended her stay for an additional week. 

 

This month The Applique Society published one of Cathy's patterns called "Duckies and Daffodils".  The pattern was donated to The Applique Society for the purpose of publishing in the March/April 2009 issue.  The article that accompanies the pattern discusses Cathy's method of choosing color and some of her unique embellishment techniques.  Membership information is available at http://www.theapplikquesociety.org .

We are looking forward to the International Quilt Festival/Long Beach, CA.  The show runs from July 24-26, 2009.  Preview night is July 23rd, 2009.  This year Cathy will be teaching her pattern, "Feathers 'n Blooms" on Wednesday, July 22.  She will also be demonstrating her technique, "Applique the Easy Way" focusing on stems, during the Saturday Night Sampler, on July 25th.  Order your class catalog today!  http://www.quilts.com/sqf09/info/2009Catalogue.pdf
